Meet The Team!

Charity Fox (Club Owner & Lunger) and Storm

First and foremost, I am a single mother to a very talented and beautiful daughter! She has been in competitive gymnastics now for over 6 years. She has also ridden horses since she was old enough to ride. Going the route of vaulting just seemed to be a natural fit for us with the horses just sitting here and not having a specific job. After researching it a couple years and not really coming across much in the area, I finally found Rosie, who is our main person here in Texas with the National Vaulting Association, out of Austin.  With the help of Rosie, I was able to officially launch our club in January 2023!  I am dedicated to the growth of our club and continually seek educational opportunities to learn more and grow as a vaulting club owner.

As for me, I am a serial entrepreneur! I love building my own businesses! Besides running Heart of Texas Vaulters, I also own a life and health insurance business as an independent agent, and a photography business. Horses, travel, photography, and fitness are my passions along with my insurance business.

Storm is our main vaulting horse at the moment and my heart horse. I have owned her since she was 2 years old, and she is now about 14 years old. She is on the smaller side for a vaulting horse, but she loves her job and is great with the kids! In March of 2023, Storm unfortunately lost her right eye. However, she never skipped a beat in being an amazing vaulting horse and continues to do her job without fault.

Caroline Shubert (Coach)

I'm originally from New Mexico, have lived all over, and just recently moved to the San Antonio area. I have 15 years of vaulting experience, competing all the way up to Gold/3*, spending many of those years also coaching and training others. I also ride for fun and have some gymnastics and dance background. I have competed in individual, pairs, and team events as well as performed with the National Friendship Demo Team.

Outside of vaulting, I love to stay active. I am a runner, enjoy hiking, camping, and backpacking, and love to go dancing. I absolutely love vaulting and can't wait to get started sharing that love with others.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is horse vaulting dangerous?

Vaulting is not only the safest of the equestrian sports, it is documented safer than riding bicycles, playing on playground equipment, and even playing soccer. Vaulting is done on a 15ft lunge line with a lunger in control at all times.

What ages do you teach?

We teach all ages from 5 years old to adults.

What days do you hold practice?

Right now practices are on Sundays 2pm-4pm. Leading up to competitions we will possibly do extra practices on Thursday evenings.

What do you wear?

For practices, we ask that you wear tightly fitting workout attire and either dance/vaulting shoes or light tennis shoes. For competition, you will wear a black unitard with black dance/vaulting shoes for compulsories and then a unitard of your choice for freestyle routines.

Do you compete?

Yes! Right now we have two events in Texas each year. In the future, we will be traveling to out-of-state competitions such as Colorado or New Mexico.

What is the cost?

Our practices are $55 for each lesson or $200 for the month based on 4 Sundays in the month. If there is an extra Sunday that month it will be $250. When we have extra practices leading up to competitions, those will be $40 per lesson for riders competing. There are additional cost for competition fees.
